If your Child is Absent:
Call the sick line at 781-979-2182 to report the absence. Please leave the date, your child’s name and teacher and reason for absence that includes illness symptoms.
All students must present evidence of immunizations in compliance with the requirements of Mass. General laws, Ch. 76, Sec. 1, which specifically prohibits admitting a student to school without a physician’s certificate showing that the child has been successfully immunized against Measles/Mumps/Rubella, Polio, Hepatitis B, Diptheria/Tetanus/Pertussis, Haemophilus Influenza type B (HIB), and Varicella, unless religious or medical exemptions apply.
Children who are not fully immunized against these vaccine-preventable illnesses are not allowed to attend school. A physical exam with lead screening is required upon entering Kindergarten.

Nutrition and Health
Please remember that all classrooms are now nut free. Check labels carefully when packing snacks for your child. Nut products are allowed at lunch in the APR.
Making good snack choices is important!
Healthy snacks are the best choices. Suggestions include fruit (fresh or dried), crackers, dried cereals, or yogurt. Remember that snack time is not mealtime, and your child does not need to come in with a variety of foods to snack on at once. Please practice opening packages and container lids with your child at home to make sure he or she can open them independently most of the time.
Note: All classrooms are nut free, and some children have gluten-free diets. Here is a list from Hoover nurse, Kristen Aiello, that gives you some helpful ideas for snacks.
